(Note: This is a review I wrote in October 2008, when I was working on my senior degree project, which centered around green housekeeping.)
I do a lot of dishes by hand, because I cook a lot, and I’m picky about what goes in the dishwasher. Pots and pans are the biggest no-no, because a.) they don’t get clean enough and b.) my tiny apartment-sized dishwasher will barely hold them. I also don’t put in Tupperware (it takes up too much space), cutting knives (it dulls them), cooking utensils (I use them so often it’s inconvenient) or anything made of wood (it dries out terribly).
So, all of these non-dishwasher things go in the sink. (I probably shouldn’t admit to this, but I find dishwashing relaxing. I put on my yellow gloves, turn on my iPod and do my thing. When we had no dishwasher, I even used to instruct my boyfriend not to empty the dish drainer, because I found it so satisfying to put everything away.)
